Isis - Pub of the Year
Welcome to the Jarrow Brewery
Jarrow Brewery commenced brewing in October 2002, based at The Robin Hood Public House, Jarrow on South Tyneside.
Long-standing publicans, CAMRA enthusiasts and husband and wife, Jess and Alison McConnell, formed the company.
The brewery gained early recognition winning five CAMRA Champion Beer of Festival Awards in its first year of brewing.
Jarrow Brewery gained national recognition with silver and bronze medal awards at the Great British Beer Festival in 2005 and 2008.
Product names are derived from a depth of local history, including a number of beers that commemorate the legendary Jarrow March of 1936.
The brewery deliver their products between Edinburgh and North Yorkshire and wholesalers, such as Flying Firkin, Boggart and Northumbria Real Ales deliver throughout the UK.
In 2008 all brewing was transferred to an upgraded plant at the brewers other licensed premises in South Tyneside, The Maltings Brewery Tap, South Shields.
The Robin Hood premises still remain an integral part of the operation, retaining the head office, cold storage and distribution facilities.
